In the example above, I used a NURBS circle and a profile path. The new surface sweeps along the circle (360 degrees) and follows the path. Instead of using a NURBS circle you can draw a path. If you draw a half circle it will only sweep 180 degrees but it will still follow the path. Just draw the path from the top view, then draw the profile curve from a side view. Let’s see if I understood your question.
