Importing and Deleting Image Planes in Maya 3D 2012

Image plane attributes:

  • Looking through camera: The image plane only appears in the camera view in which the image plane is connected.
  • In all views: The image plane appears in all views.

Display: Controls how the image plane appears in views and in the rendered image. The default setting is RGBA.

Center:  The position of the center of the image plane (measured in the scene’s linear working unit). Center is not available if Image Plane is Attached to Camera.

NURBS Modeling: How to Extrude a Curve Along a Path in Maya 2012

Extrude is  the process of creating a 3D surface or shape by sweeping a cross-section or profile along a curve.

The comand Surfaces > Extrude creates a surface by sweeping a profile curve along a path curve.

NURBS Modeling: How to Use Booleans in Maya 2012

Boolean operations are actions that trim surfaces to create the appearance of a union, intersection, or subtraction between two objects.

  • Union booleans – Combines two or more objects and delete the regions that overlap.
  • Difference booleans – Combines two or more objects and subtracts the overlapping region from the first object.
  •  Intersection booleans – Combine two or more objects and keeps only the regions that overlap.

NURBS Modeling: How to Bevel a Curve in Maya 2012

You can use bevel and bevel plus to create an extruded surface with a beveled edge from any curve, including text curves and trim edges.
