Google has released a new feature for all Google My Business users called “Google Posts.” These posts will allow your business to create short posts directly from your Google My Business page, allowing you to communicated directly with your customers and attract new ones.
Google Posts were first introduced in January of last year specifically for the US presidential candidates to use. The posts appeared as card after Google search. They were extended later in March of that year to select number of businesses then on to movies, musicians, leagues, and sports teams.
Unlike social media these posts do not show up the Google Post homepage. They only show up during search results from business approved to use the system. They will disappear over time so it is important to use good keywords and to make them relevant to whatever you want to tell the customer.
To access this new feature you will need to log into Google My Business. Then on the left click on posts. You will then click where it says “Write Your Post”.
A box will pop up and you can type in your content. You will have an option to make the post about an event and to add a button to it.
Google Posts will be an important part of communicating to your customers and improve your local SEO. Make sure you utilize this important tool and use it to your business’s advantage.
